Bison band and the three sister hemlocks – April 2001

After a long migration, the bison return to their beloved river of song. This place, this little patch of eden, is watched over by the three sister hemlocks, growing side by side, from the same nurse log. Two hundred feet below, beside this hurdy-gurdy creek, the bison reacquaint themselves with this community of life, this crease in the hand of the gods, this summer “hunting” grounds.
