Unwashing again

I quit washing my hair two years ago. It worked out quite well, at least as long as I rinsed my hair in really lovely McKenzie River water. Unwashing became much more problematic after I moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin. Waukesha’s deep draw aquifer water is incredibly toxic, and filled with tons of minerals. My hair acquired the texture of glitter glue. I resisted for about four months after movies, but eventually I started washing my hair with shampoo again, just so I could get the scale off.

The future as story

I’ve been thinking about story again lately…story as future, story as creation, story as self. Often, I’m not even aware that I’ve been thinking about something until I find the keystone, gain insight, and then I can see how that insight has actually been growing in me for some time.

I recently re-read Storying Corporate Futures: The Shell Scenarios
which sounds dull and dry, but is anything but. This fascinating interview with Betty Sue Flowers is definitely about the Shell Scenarios, but mostly it’s about myth and the power of creating visions of the future which create our visions of the present.

Congress is not our friend
